44th School Anniversary & Award Presentation Day
On 2 April 2026, the school celebrated its 43rd anniversary at an event graced by Venerable Dr. Shi Chuan Sheng, Vice-Rector (Academic Affairs & Advisor) and Associate Professor at the Singapore Buddhist College as our Guest-of-Honour. He also currently serves as chairman of the education committee of the Singapore Buddhist Federation and a member of our school management committee (SMC). Other esteemed members of the SMC, student award recipients, parents and teachers were in attendance.
‘Building a Vibrant Learning Community’ was the chosen theme for this year’s anniversary. In his speech, Venerable Chuan Sheng highlighted the importance of nurturing life-long learners that are both open-minded yet discerning, adaptive yet anchored to strong values to thrive in an uncertain world. He believed that a vibrant learning community is one where learning goes beyond the classroom — where students are encouraged to think deeply, act with purpose, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
One such school graduate who strongly embodied these qualities is Tay Qi Xuan. She was conferred the Outstanding Manjusrian Award 2025 for her academic achievements (8 ‘O’ level distinctions) and all-round excellence in areas such as demonstrated leadership abilities as a Student Council Executive Committee member as well as upper secondary section/group leader of Chinese Orchestra. She is now continuing her education at Nanyang Junior College.
The event saw a parade of our uniformed groups as well as the preview of items from the school public concert Arts Fiesta III which was being staged at the Singapore Conference Hall later in April. Selected performances by the Chinese Dance, Choir and Concert Band were showcased. Mee Toh Foundation Arts scholarships, Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho temple scholarships (Sports & Uniformed Groups) and Alumni CCA awards (for Clubs & Societies) were presented to Manjusrians to support them in their studies and furtherance of their talent or leadership in co-curricular activities.
The school congratulates all award recipients and wishes our graduates every fulfilment in their continuing educational pursuits and future endeavours.
