Introduction to DSA @ Manjusri

Manjusri Secondary School admits students through the Direct School Admission – Secondary Schools exercise (DSA-Sec). Our DSA-Sec selection criteria is premised on the applicants’ aptitude and interests in the areas related to Science and Technology.

Selection and interview of shortlisted applicants.
School will issue a letter stating the outcome of the application, (i) Confirmed Offer (CO), (ii) Waiting List (WL) or (iii) Rejected, via a post.

29 Oct – 2 Nov 2018

Applicants with CO or on WL are to exercise school preference via the online DSA-Sec Internet System (DSA-Sec IS) or physically at their respective Primary Schools or MOE Customer Service Centre (for international students).

23 – 26 Nov 2018The results of the DSA-Sec Exercise will be released to students in their Primary Schools or MOE Customer Service Centre (for international students) on the same day as the release of PSLE results.

Admission Criteria


Students who are interested in applying for admission to Manjusri Secondary School under the Direct School Admission Exercise (DSA) must fulfil the following criteria:

Category A
Interested applicants who are currently studying in local national schools            

Age Criteria

Applicants who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents should be born between 2 JAN 2001 and 1 JAN 2006.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate an aptitude and interest in Science or Technology through one or more of the following ways:

  • Participated in Science or Technology-related competitions, at either school or national level (e.g. Science quizzes, Design & Engineering fairs etc.);
  • Sustained participation in Science or Technology related co-curricular activities (e.g. Robotics or Science Club, etc.);
  • Participated in Science or Technology-related enrichment programmes (e.g. basic coding & programming, etc.);
  • Completed school Science or Technology projects.

Applicants do not need to possess all of the above criteria to be considered. Applicants who are able to show their aptitude or interest in Science, Engineering & Technology in other ways may still apply. General Academic Test (GAT) and High Ability Selection Test (HAST) will not be used as a selection criteria. 

Category B

International Students, Citizens and Permanent Residents who are currently not studying in local national schools.

Applicants currently not studying in MOE schools are required to obtain a registration number from MOE Customer Service Centre before filling in this application form. Please submit a photocopy of the issued letter together with the application form.

Age Criteria:

Applicants who are international students should be born between 2 JAN 2003 and 1 JAN 2006.

Academic Requirement: 

International Students are to take part in the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) if they wish to be admitted to mainstream public schools.

Only shortlisted applicants will be informed to attend a panel interview in July or August, upon which successful applicants will be offered a place in Manjusri Secondary School through the DSA exercise. 
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
